All three islands, seen from the sea: a zoomable map of Malta, Gozo and Comino.

Buildings, roads and coastline come from open map data. Each footprint is raised to its height on the terrain and drawn from the same angle into a giant isometric picture, cut into tiles you can zoom through.
An image model then repaints the land in blocks as pixel art, guided by that render so every street stays where it really is. The blocks are blended together and patched back into the tiles.
Cars, buses, boats, birds and people are simulated live in your browser on the real road network. They are illustrative, not a live feed.
Past eras are estimated from satellite data and the opening dates of big projects. Individual buildings are not a record.
